Delhi Minister Atishi of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of threatening her with arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) if she refuses to join the saffron party. At a press conference on Tuesday morning, Atishi disclosed the alleged intimidation, claiming that a close associate of hers acting on behalf of the BJP approached her with the ultimatum. She asserted, "I was asked to join the party and save my political career, or else I would be arrested by the ED in the coming month."

Atishi further expressed apprehension about potential arrests of more AAP leaders in the near future, citing the recent mention of her and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj's names by the ED in court proceedings. She attributed the BJP's actions to a perceived threat posed by the unity and strength of the AAP despite the incarceration of key leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and others. Responding to questions regarding Kejriwal's potential resignation, Atishi referenced legal provisions stating that unless convicted, there is no reason for him to step down, emphasizing that his resignation would serve the BJP's interests. Atishi's allegations have drawn attention to the ongoing political tensions in Delhi ahead of the upcoming elections.
